Our History
In the 1970s, Gerald Van Dam owned and operated Gelock Heavy Movers—a crane, rigging, and transportation service. Realizing he could naturally expand its services into emergency repair and machine fabrication, he began a second business: Hastings Equipment Limited, which was incorporated in 1986. At that time, the name was abbreviated to HEL and the business ownership was transferred to Gerald’s sons Rich, Randy, and John Van Dam. Today, Rich is president of HEL and Randy is president of Gelock.
